Acneic skin needs thorough but gentle cleansing, without harshly stripping the skin.

Cleansing must be always followed with an appropriately formulated moisturizer.

Lack of moisture can in fact irritate acneic skin and aggravate the condition.

A good mask used three times/week will help dry up pustules and deep cleanse the pores. After the mask apply a moisturizer.

Teenage acne is a result of hormonal inbalance and dealing harshly with teenage acne is likely to leave marks for the rest of the person's life. Such marks can be discoloration or even small pits.

Another result of dealing harshly with teenage acne is creating a life-long skin sensitivity to many skin care products.

It is a great idea to avoid products that contain alcohol, which will strip the skin of its natural protective barrier and result in an increase of oil production. Continuous use of such products will lead to permanent sensitivity.

Oily and acneic skin needs moisture just as the body needs water to survive. Water content in the skin has no connection to oil content. In fact, if the skin lacks water it will produce extra oil in an attempt to protect itself, since it cannot produce water.

Oily skin moisturizers are formulated to not increase the oil in the skin.
